ULH STREAM Guide to maintenance

I. Maintenance of Facilities

  • A. RegularInspection 1~4 times a month Checklist:driftwoods, dead leaves, leakage of water, deposition, and others
  • B. Check Occasionally before and after flood, earthquake, and other usual weather

Ⅱ. Maintenance of Electric Equipment

A. Regular Inspection with eyes-by whom implemented/Administrator

Once or twice a month, check the power facilities and as regards the matters listed in item below with eyes while system is active.

1. Water wheel and Generator

  • sound, rotation, overheat, smell, oiling
  • rotational state of generator-sound, heat, voltage, electric current, status of power generation

2. Control equipment, Safeguard, and Main circuit board

  • dust, dirt, overheat, looseness, or breaking damages of back wiring
  • instrument and gauge, plate, signal light
  • operation, changeover switch

B. Regular check-by local company or equipment manufacture which undertakes maintenance

Once or twice a year, stop the operation, confirm that there is no abnormality of it, and perform test and measuring.

1. Water wheel and Generator ・stains, looseness, damages, transmission device, air vent

  • check the damages of bearings, water wheel runners, then to be changed when necessary.

2. Control equipment, Safeguard, and Main circuit board

  • dust, dirt, overheat, looseness, or breaking damages of back wiring
  • instrument and gauge, plate, signal light ・operation, changeover switch
  • overheat, looseness, wires breaking, wires coming off, terminal wiring codes errors 3. mesuring, peformingtest
  • insulation resistance test of generator, main circuit board
  • earth resistance of generator, control equipment, safeguard, and main circuit board
  • start/stop sequence test

-Sequence contolperforms/stops operation in order. This test checks that the equipment operates in orderdsequence by control eqipment.

  • test of protection relays

Protection relays calculates operating conditions on an electrical circuit and trip circuitebreakers when a fault is detected. This test simulates input of protection relays and confirms its competency.

  • Calibration of measuring instruments

-Calibration will be performed to accurate the display of voltage, electric current in control equipment.

C. Minute inspection and consumable parts replacement cycle -by local company or equipment manufacture which undertakes maintenance

Minute inspection to be performed when necessary or at least every 3 years.Takewater wheel and generator to pieces, replace the consumable parts such as non-metallic seal, or packing, or liner.
Repair damages, overhaul generator, control power conditioner if necessary.
Water wheel runners and bearings are to be exchanged when deeply damaged by erosion caused by water movement or abrasion in a river.
